This course meets all of the requirements for initiative 1639. It teaches the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude for safe handling and storage of guns in the home. This course will also cover kids and guns, and suicide prevention.
These courses will teach you the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude for owning and operating a pistol, rifle, or shotgun. These are separate NRA certified, 8 hour objective based courses.
Pistol: This Course is a great starting point for new shooters. It is a must if you want to take advanced pistol courses, personal protection courses, ( inside or outside the home ), or run competitions out at the ranch. It is also a great refresher course, even if you have been shooting for a long time, served in our Military or LE.
Rifle: This course will teach you the rifle mechanisms and operations including, bolt action, semi-automatic, lever action, and slide action. We'll also go over shooting skills, ie, the fundamentals of rifle shooting and various shooting positions.
Shotgun: This course will teach you the various types of shotguns, shotgun shooting activities, and shotgun selection when it comes to home defense and sport shooting.
To take this course you should have already had the basic pistol class and learned the fundamentals of shooting. This is an 8 hour, objective based class. You will learn the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude that will help you feel comfortable protecting self and family in the home, get information about the law and firearms, and learn strategies for home safety. This is an NRA certified course.
This course is a series of three courses. You should have already taken the Basic Pistol Shooting Course and the Basics of Personal Protection In The Home course or pass the pre-course evaluation given by the instructor. This course will
be offered in 2 levels. Level 1 is the basics and takes 9 hours (objective-based) but is prerequisite for moving on to level 2, which is 5 hours (objective-based) and is more advanced. This course prepares you for carrying a personal protection firearm in public, knowing the legal aspects of concealed carry and self-defense. This is an NRA certified course.

This is a course for women only.
You can take any of the courses offered and feel comfortable in the class of all women.
Become a Range Safety Officer (RSO). Learn the role of RSOs; range Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs); range safety briefings; range inspections and rules; emergency procedures; and how to clear firearm stoppages and correct malfunctions. This is an NRA certified course.
Oregon and Idaho require you to take an NRA basic of pistol class.
Washington currently has no requirements.
